Account Manager
The Account Manager is accountable for managing the day-to-day relationship and projects from assigned Clients to ensure profitable growth and client retention. This position will work with, and take client direction from, the Account Executive to ensure growth and other performance goals are achieved. This position will manage projects from beginning to end to through effective communication, planning and project management.
Primary Accountability:
- Lead/manage day to day project communication with assigned accounts
- Manage all outside vendor relationships to ensure timeline and quality targets are met
- Create, communicate and manage project schedules
- Develop processes that ensure profitable and timely production of client projects
- Communicate project status and results, effectively, with client and Account Executive
- Ensure work is performed smoothly and profitably
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced contextual knowledge of printing, bindery & distribution processes
- Color Management
- Ability to anticipate issues and proactively troubleshoot
- Ability to build and manage project schedules using Excel or other digital formats
- Strong computer skills (Word & Excel), knowledge of Monarch a plus
- Ability to work in highly deadline driven environment
- Client-focused, teamwork based
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability
Responsibilities/Activities:
- Drive the customer experience
- Manage client project communications from award of job through shipment
- Enter jobs into Monarch
- Record and manage alterations
- Send out proofs or prototypes
- Responsible for managing client & client growth along with Account Executive
- General conversations with the customer regarding new opportunities, initiatives, etc
- Find what customers need, create solutions
- Find ways to cross sell within current customer base (consulting with sales)
- Stays current with customers and checks in with them for new opportunities/jobs
- Creates own estimates and/or submits new estimates to the estimating group
- Creates quote letters & submits pricing to the clients (based on standards set forth by Sales)
- Attend press checks with clients
- Works with clients to manage schedules to ensure paper delivery, etc
- Manages billing process, and approves final invoice to client (based on standards set forth by Sales)
- Brings in Sales to consult for tricky situations or commercial issues
